Summer Activities

Boat Building ​
​
Boat building is for kids of all ages.   The kids build their own boats with adult guidance.  We provide the wood, nails, hammers, and markers to build, decorate, & name the boat. Then everyone goes to the river for the Big Race.  Every kid cheers for their boat as they float down the river.  1st, 2nd, & 3rd place prizes are given.  It is a favorite Summer activity of many and draws huge crowds.

Movies in the Mountains​
​
Family movies are shown every Wednesday night on the lawn when the sun goes down.  The audience consists of local and tourist families who enjoy sitting on blankets or folding chairs, which are furnished or you may bring your own. The event is sponsored by a grant from Red River Valley Foundation and donations are appreciated.

Line Dancing
 
 We have line dancing lessons on Tuesdays and Saturdays during the day and then line dancing for all ages those nights.  Everyone loves it and it is great exercise!  The lessons are at a much slower pace for those that are just learning or need a refresher.​

S'Mores & Stories ​& Family Fun
​
Free S’Mores are available select nights before line dancing on the front lawn of the Community House.  Everyone is welcome to come & roast their own over the fire.  S’Mores on the Lawn is sponsored by Der Markt of Red River.

Bingo

Every Monday and Friday night at 6:30 PM (super strict start time). Doors open at 6:00 PM and close at 6:30 PM. All ages can play! Anyone under the age of 12 must have an adult with them. Packets consist of 10 games for $20. The night will follow all New Mexico gaming rules.

Yoga 

The classes at the Community House are available for all levels and ages.  Chair Yoga is a class led by DVD instruction to enhance balance, strength, and posture.  Held weekly year-round.
Flow Yoga is a gentle class appropriate for any age and ability level. Led by Sara Perry during the summer months, a certified YogaFit instructor.

Mats and all accessories are supplied for all classes. 
 
Jammin' on the Porch

Looking for opportunities to get together for some jammin, strummin, hummin, singin, or just hand clappin and foot pattin?  We gather every Friday afternoon. Everyone is welcome, no matter the skill level! 
Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School will be held  for 3 days in July from 9am - 11am each morning. It is organized by First Woodway Baptist Church (from Waco TX). See the calendar for more details and/or sign up here for 2024.
