Tana & Doug McCormick,
Activities Directors
Tana and Doug McCormick have a long history with Red River. They both learned to ski here many years ago!
Tana and Doug have spent much of their adult lives working with children, from coaching little league, and youth basketball, to leading youth groups at church.
When Doug retired from the fire department and Tana sold her business and retired in 2014, they bought an RV and traveled all across the US. Throughout the years, though, they kept finding their way back to Red River. Finally, they decided to just stay the entire summer, and they’ve been coming back yearly since.
Tana and Doug started volunteering at the Red River Community House in 2018, and have been more involved each year. They truly love giving back to this wonderful community, and helping families make lifelong memories. They are looking forward to an incredible summer!

Activities Leaders
Emily Scarborough
Hi, I’m Emily! I’m from Tomball, near Houston, TX. I love playing soccer, skiing, and rock climbing. I spent my second year in the Momentous college program in Glorieta, NM this past year, where we took a deep dive into our faith, while enjoying God’s beautiful creation. My future plans include getting my real estate license in TX, and following whatever else God has planned for my life!
I remember my first time visiting Red River being met by a bunch of bighorn sheep spread across the road. It was an incredible introduction. I can’t wait for the pretty views and amazing community of Red River this summer!
Emily is the intern coordinator of scheduling and games this summer!

Chloe Haaland
Hi, I’m Chloe! I am From Dalhart, Texas. I just finished my second year at Momentous, a college gap year outdoor ministry program, in New Mexico. While there I not only got to take some of my basic college classes but I also got to dive into theology classes, discipleship classes, and outdoor activities. I am currently pursuing a major in nutrition and plan on attending college this coming fall. Some of my favorite things include snowboarding, dancing, coffee, camping, and rock climbing.
I grew up skiing in Red River and got to be an activities leader here at the Community House last summer. I am excited to be back in Red River enjoying the summer while being outdoors, meeting new people, and hosting fun activities!
Chloe is the intern coordinator of dancing and family fun events with line dancing nights for this summer!
Grace Morgan
Howdy, I’m Grace Morgan! I’m from a small town in deep East Texas. I’m currently a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio where I am studying environmental studies. With that being said, I love all things outdoors, including hiking, kayaking, outdoor Bible studies, and all things plants.
My family has been visiting the Red River Community House since before I was born, and it has always been a dream of mine to be part of the community house. I’m very excited to spend the summer in Red River and share my passion as the coordinator of the nature programs here at the community house.
Grace is the intern coordinator of nature programs this summer!

Christy Brown
Hello! My name is Christy and I live in Huffman, Texas. I’m currently studying at Lone Star College Kingwood and hope to become a Music Therapist. My passions are learning more about the Lord and playing music.
I’ve always thought of Red River as a magical place growing up, with God’s beautiful nature, the Community House, and beyond friendly people. I’m so excited to see what God has in store for this summer!
Christy is the intern coordinator of music and children's Sunday School this summer!
