Two weeks and a lot of labor by Bailey's Floor Service (the original installer of the floor in 1953) has restored the Community House floor. It's beautiful!  Thanks to Randy Henson who oversaw the project.

2008 Director of Family and Children's Activities

Matt Alexander will be the Director of Family and Children’s Activities for the Community House this summer, and he is excited!  Matt grew up in north Dallas with his parents and younger sister.  This past December 16 was the happiest day of his mother’s life – Matt graduated from Baylor University!  During his time at Baylor, Matt studied religion and served as a youth pastor at the First Baptist Church of Eddy, TX for 4 years.  The time that Matt spent as youth pastor was very formative in creating a deep passion in him to serve people, especially young people.  As youth pastor, Matt led a team of 10-12 college leaders; organized all youth activities and events including 3 retreats each year, 6 mission trips, and 3 back-to-school bash’s.  Matt was also involved in other aspects of the church including helping during the children’s ministry Vacation Bible School, occasional preaching/teaching, and baptizing 20 students during his 4 years at the church.

For the past 2 ½ months, Matt has been traveling around the United States and spending time with different churches and ministries.  The goal and vision for this trip is to learn from a wide variety of ministries so that Matt’s perspective on church and ministry will continue to grow and expand.  In the future, Matt hopes to be a part of planting a church in the inner city.
